The Lost City
The idea behind this series is to reflect on the seemingly inevitable fate of a city shaped by the devastating effects of deindustrialization. Buildings that have lost their purpose become abstract, monolithic forms which, like ancient monuments, remain as simple artifacts of a forgotten past. Opposing these rigid and sterile structures are the organic, abundant, and vibrant forms of the surrounding forest, a symbol of a powerful nature that may one day reclaim humanity's fleeting creations.
The Lost City tells its story in three acts, represented by two black-and-white series (the forest and the city) and a color street photography series focused on the people. The latter is not presented here for legal reasons related to image rights.
